Job Definition: This Vice President, reporting to the TriQuint World-wide Operations VP, will be responsible for managing manufacturing operations for the Oregon site including about 550 staff supporting , wafer manufacturing, RF/DC test, and site and facility infrastructure This will include recruiting, retaining, mentoring, and providing development opportunities to highly trained staff. This VP will be responsible for all aspects of wafer fabrication and wafer test. He/she will provide strategic and operational leadership to create and implement plans to provide world class wafer costs, yields, cycle times and customer service, across a wide range of state-of-the-art GaAs technologies.. The Oregon site has both high volume and low volume processes using microwave and millimeter wave technologies with multiple variations to address specific customer needs requiring high level of service from management and engineering. This person will support development of 3-year strategic and tactical plans including capital, headcount, cost reduction projects, capacity expansion, technology transfers and technology development. This VP will work closely with other manufacturing sites under the direction of the Worldwide Operations VP to implement common equipment strategies, coordinate capacity expansion, share best practices, address site specific issues, and provide surge capacity. He/she would participate in capital allocation decisions affecting insource/outsource decisions related manufacturing ramp/upgrade to 150mm GaAs lines. This VP must support three business units (defense & foundry, mobile devices, and networks). He/she should thoroughly understand their requirements including development of new products, delivery of prototype and production products, and timely customer support. Skills: Technical degree at BS, MS or PhD level. 15 years experience. Track record of successfully managing high technology manufacturing operations including wafer fabrication, engineering and development. Technology and process startup experience highly desired. Candidates will have demonstrated operational excellence by consistently raising manufacturing standards while efficiently scaling capacity to support rising demand. Intimate knowledge and demonstrated success of driving process control systems and Lean manufacturing methods is a requirement for the position. He/She will have demonstrated operational discipline in a technology rich environment by centralizing/integrating operations and/or standardizing equipment/manufacturing flows. III-V compound semiconductor, package/module assembly and RF test experience are considered positives. Fundamental understanding of semiconductor processes, devices and RF circuits (high frequency power amplifiers, LNAs, mixers, switches, etc.) would be beneficial. Experience providing manufacturing support for disparate product lines (e.g. consumer, industrial, military) is desirable. Strong communications skills required.
