Details: VP Residual ValueBASIC FUNCTION:The VP Residual Value is responsible for managing the analysis, modeling, and reporting on factors that impact residual value and cash flow projections for both retail and lease business. This team member directs and develops a team conducting complex analysis, modeling and reporting. This position will interact with many other departments in the interest of achieving the overall company objectives. Detailed Description JOB DUTIES: Design, develop, and refine GMF’s (macroeconomic) forecasting models that are fully integrated with Residual Risk and lease portfolio analysis. Use econometric modeling and appropriate statistical techniques to identify factors that correlate with severity metrics. These factors include used vehicle values and the probability lease vehicles will be returned at lease end. Combine mathematical relationships into a semi-automated model that forecasts metrics listed above and is used as a decision support tool. Continuously validate and adapt model to changing internal and external conditions. Use creative quantitative techniques to create forecasting models for new vehicle models where no historical data exists. Manage team of residual value Analysts. Develop and enhance databases that form the foundation for lease portfolio analysis. Integrate data from GMF's lease/loan portfolio and data from other sources (i.e., AuctionNet, Global Insight, Moody's Economy.com, etc.). Collect, and analyze auto industry and economic information and data impacting used vehicle prices, including, but not limited to, information regarding economic trends/forecasts, new and used car markets, emerging technology, and competitor vehicles and sales. Develop industry and vendor relationships to identify different sources of information including industry practices and trends. Collect data and prepare lease residual value proposal files for quarterly residual analysis and recommendations. Maintain awareness of trends in the economy and automotive industry. Coordinate development of papers relating to special projects on issues related to Consumer Risk. Create unique problem solving approaches and develop concise explanations of complex topics. Prepare and deliver effective presentations to senior management regarding complex topics.
